It’s big and full of unessential stuff like plants and decorations and furniture and all the bathroom equipment. To take the Dragon (Cyclops) and sail to new, unknown regions was like the best thing ever by then. Man i remember when BZ was still supposed to be a DLC. Sometimes i just get in the first Seamoth and cruise randomly. I still have the game installed and i never beat the story on purpose. I would happen upon a beautiful place and be like “o ♥♥♥♥ i totally want to live here”. But i built them because i loved SN1’s vast world so much, and i was so deeply immersed in it, that i wanted to sort of, how can i say, DECORATE it. Were most of those superfluous? Absolutely. The first subnautica compelled me to build almost twenty bases, between large glorified ones and small, functional outposts. (where it also makes sense within the story.) ![]() I would like to use the larger rectangle room for example, but it feels like there are only a few places to do that. I would also build to be creative in the use of the available base items. ![]() I would build in a place that has food access, resource access and a lack of predators. If the sun was the most obvious and abundant power source than I would build in an area that has lots of sunlight. For lack of a better way to say it, I would build a base that makes sense within the story, just like to first game. Yeah, fair enough, people have different opinions and requirements. For example, the Deep Lilypad biome or Fabricator Caverns are two such locales.īottom line is that I haven't perceived a shortage of potential base sites, I've built and relocated temporary scanner rooms at various locations throughout the map that could be expanded to large bases if desired. That allows a center of operations for both the Glacial Basin and Arctic Spires, I also have a base at the edge of the world just for the hell of it to observe Leviathans. If it's access to raw materials, the Purple Vents is a good location for common resources and Crystal Caverns for rare materials.įor strategic value, I have a base that straddles land and water at Glacial Bay. If it's uniqueness, try building a base nestled in the largest of the tree spires or at the bottom of the Koppa Mining Site.
